Goodness me .

Church today , I thought I'd get a really interesting message because the pastor was from Singapore or something .

Yes he was . But no , it wasn't interesting . It wasn't boring too , it was , challenging .

First of all , he starts his sermon by cracking jokes and shouting in the mic so often , which can get really freaky but I was okay with it .

Then , he talked about spiritual warfare , and he started out by saying "The devil wants you to marry non-Christians" I mean , I looked at Zhe Xian looking back at his own brother , and I already know what's going on in their head . Because it was the same thing that I was thinking too . I mean seriously , if you're going to put it as "People leaving the faith for an unfaithful husband" then go ahead , but there are two problems with the first statement :
The devil really doesn't do much , it's of our own fault that certain things happen , we can't always blame the devil . Sure , the Devil is probably real glad that we're being rebellious to God , but the thing is , we're so sinful by nature that he really doesn't have to do much .
Second problem , whats wrong with marrying a non-Christian ? I know that it can make a relationship more challenging and etc. , but by the way he's putting it , it's almost as if it's as a SIN to do so . And yet , we have people who turned back to God , who got humbled and etc. BECAUSE they married a Christian , so you're going to imply that that was also a "work of the Devil "?

Then he goes on about how some girls want love so badly and how guys give false love to obtain sex , and that is one of the things that he got right . However , he went along saying that "THE BIBLE TELLS US NOT TO HAVE RELATIONSHIPS WHEN WE'RE YOUNG" And he pointed to Zhe Xian and told him "Eh you in a relationship anot ?" in a jokishly manner , then we all saw Zhe Xian turn red .

I mean if it's in your opinion that we should not be in a relationship in a young age then by all means say that it's in your own opinion based on some experiences , but to say that the Bible said such a thing is just...


I'm not saying that his opinions were wrong , because to be honest , it's not a very wise thing to do , unless of course you're a responsible person and you know your limits and responsibilities . But the problem is when you tell people that God himself said no to this like how he said no to killing or adultery . As far as I know , (And did some brief research) , the Bible said nothing about having relationships when you're young .



Oh goodness . Okay I'm done with my critique .


Sorry , I just thought something like that had to be done anyway .

Sigh .

Anyhow , I really wish that CbC will have people like RonChoong or another apologist to come and talk to us , that would be great , since we all REALLY need it .
