If X then Y .

SMK Taman SEA held their annual Teachers day celebration today . It was a cloudy and cold morning , as I grabbed my backpack and headed for school . As usual , I went for my morning prayers , and then we dispersed . We students were then required to arrange ourselves according to our classes on the field , even though there was a slight drizzle . After our attendances were taken , the students were allowed to sit on the teres while we photographers gathered for a short briefing . Alas , it was time for the telematch . I double-checked my gear and settings , and then I headed out to to the stations ...

I did pretty well for the telematch , since it was outdoors and more 'action' related , I was not limited by any Shutter speed or aperture boundaries (At least not major ones) . I took a few candids , while the rest were crap (Partly because I was being quite stingy with my aperture..) .

Then it was time for the performances in the hall . That's where I did fairly bad . You see , while all the other photographers (Non-Ed Board too) , were using either Canon 550D's or Point and shoot camera's , I was stuck with an entry leveled 450D with a good piece of lens . Everyone else could afford to turn their ISO to around 1600 or 3200 (550D's have a limit of 6400 ISo , while 450D's have a ISO limit of 1600 , and a maxed out ISO will kill the image quality) . So I was forced to set my ISO to 800 (1 stop below the maximum) , and my shutter speed was very limited . So I didn't get the chance to take really good pictures of the lion dance , and the other dancers...

After that , I met up with Rachel in the canteen and then we waited for the rest to come , and then we headed out to Secret Recipe in Taman Megah .

The occasion was to celebrate Di Wern's birthday which is tomorrow by the way , and although it's more toned down compared to our usual birthday celebrations (because we were all very very tired...especially me) but it was still something to remember .

Here are some illegally uploaded pictures just for kicks (The Ed Board will never use them anyway :P )
