The following happened today ;
My "visit" to Glad Tidings
I woke up at 7:45 with a rather bad dream.I got ready and asked my dad to drop me at the church.After awkwardly thinking that the service was at 8 (I was there at 8 20),I saw cars entering through the gate that my father just drove through.I then found out that I wasn't late,I was early.
After being dropped off,I walked my way to the hall that I once visited for the Easter drama,I then asked an adult there where the youth was,and he kindly told me to go to the hall on my left.After entering getting indoors,I was greeted first not by an usher,but by a familiar voice : Christine. Apparently she was "early" too, so she guided me a little from where I should sit and where everyone else was , so , thank Christine !
The session then started,the already really big hall was rather packed;I never expected this many Youths.The worship was great,but I wasn't comfortable with the dancing though.
There really wasn't a "Speaker" , more like a combination of performances and testimonies that all sum up to the topic :" Love in action "
Here's where the fun begins :
1.Ivan talked about Love yesterday
2.Elder Stephen Choi also,apparently spoke about Love according to Kheng.
3.The whole GT session was about practical ways that we can "love" people,including real life demos !
4.The movie I watched today "Despicable Me",had a sense of a strong moral based storyline behind it. And it did teach me something about changing hearts.
So after the session,I walked awkwardly out of the youth hall,only to be greeted by a hearty "hello" from someone close ; Rachel.
We then talked , and talked , and talked , until she had to go (She was on Keys for her youth btw) , so I walked back , feeling tired and worn out...
Just so you know , the distance from GT to my house is rather far , but still walkable. My free Ovi GPS tells me that it's around 1.8KM away . And that's just the displacement in a straight line , not counting the roads.
But God was good,despite my father telling me that it would be quite hard to find a cab on my way,I found one. So I told him to drop me near church , and tipped him a little too.
Ultimately,the experience of visiting another Church was great. But mind me , it was awkward. The literal"no friend" feeling was swallowing me from the start until Rachel came down.
Despicable me.
It was a cute cute movie with alot of funny parts. Nuff said.
